Emsella® is an FDA-cleared, non-invasive treatment that uses HIFEM® (High-intensity
Focused Electromagnetic technology) to strengthen and stimulate the pelvic floor muscles. During treatment, patients sit comfortably on a specialized chair while the electromagnetic energy stimulates thousands of pelvic floor muscle contractions. These contractions help strengthen and retrain the muscles that support bladder control, pelvic stability, and sexual wellness. Patients remain fully clothed throughout the session, and no downtime is required.
-
Emsella®’s HIFEM® technology delivers powerful electromagnetic pulses that stimulate the pelvic floor muscles in ways that are impossible to achieve through voluntary exercises alone, such as Kegel exercises. In a single 28-minute session on the Emsella® chair, the pelvic floor undergoes thousands of supramaximal contractions, helping to strengthen the muscles and restore neuromuscular control.

The pelvic floor is a small, vital group of muscles and ligaments that stretches like a hammock at the base of the pelvis. These muscles support the bladder, bowel function, and reproductive organs while additionally playing an important role in core stability, bladder control, sexual function, and overall pelvic health.
Strong pelvic floor muscles support everyday activities like standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting, and getting in and out of bed. The pelvic floor muscles form a sling-like support system for the lower pelvic organs and are responsible for maintaining continence. When these muscles become weakened due to factors such as aging, childbirth, or surgery (including abdominal surgery, female reproductive surgery and prostate removal surgery), they may contribute to urinary incontinence - the involuntary leakage of urine.
Strengthening and retraining the pelvic floor muscles can help improve bladder control, pelvic stability, sexual wellness, and overall quality of life.
-
Emsella® may benefit men and women experiencing urinary incontinence, pelvic floor weakness, erectile dysfunction, sexual wellness concerns, or changes associated with pregnancy, childbirth, menopause, aging, or prostate surgery. Common patient populations include postpartum women, peri- & menopausal women, older adults, and men recovering from prostate surgery.
By strengthening and retraining the pelvic floor muscles, Emsella® can help improve bladder control, pelvic health, sexual wellness, and overall quality of life.
